A few words about About us

The Alternative Scene is a UNIQUE and NEW Alternative Provision (AP) launching in the North East of England.

The Alternative Scene have created a bespoke programme suitable for both primary and secondary school children, to engage and identify positive relationships with other children and teaching staff through drama, music and performance.

Subject modules will feature core elements of performance and event management, as well as the roles, responsibilities and processes which connect them. Children will learn the key skills and strategies to effectively create, plan and produce their own event and / or develop their performance and technique as a performer. There will also be opportunities for children who are interested and show a flair for Art, to illustrate and design back drops and characters.
For Primary school children, the course will include working towards a show, to be performed by the children either written by themselves or an established script.
For Secondary school children, the course will include devising a business plan, working out a budget, identifying a target audience and advertising / marketing strategies for the event.

Engagement and Performance Activities, Social Development and Future Guidance led by professionals in the entertainment and event industry.
Creating positive outcomes and a sense of belonging, combined with coping strategies and regulation processes.
